The customer was experiencing extreme blinding with the competitor's self-cleaning screen media on the top deck, while the bottom deck was equipped with regular woven wire. The excessive blinding interrupted production and prevented the operation from consistently achieving its target of 30–35 operating hours per week. Because the screen deck had previously been rebuilt, it no longer matched OEM specifications, making proper screen fitment an additional challenge.
Buffalo measured the rebuilt screen deck to ensure an accurate fit and recommended a custom PFX™ M configuration tailored to the application. Rather than using a single 1/4-inch opening across the deck, Buffalo designed a combination of 1/2-inch, 1/4-inch, and 3/16-inch PFX™ M sections to improve material flow, reduce blinding, and maximize screening efficiency.
The custom PFX™ M configuration delivered immediate improvements in screen performance and plant operation.
