Eliminating Clay Blinding: How PFX™ HT Stainless Steel Led to a Full-Deck Conversion

01. The Challenge

An aggregate operation ran woven wire screens but kept experiencing screen blinding caused by clay in the material.

The recurring buildup limited screening efficiency and created the need for a solution that could keep the deck open and maintain consistent material flow.

02. The Solution

Buffalo recommended PFX™ HT Stainless Steel self-cleaning screens to address the blinding issue.

The operation initially ordered one deck as a trial. After only a few weeks of operation, the customer reported that the screens performed extremely well and that PFX™ HT Stainless Steel resolved the blinding problem.

03. The Result

Following the successful trial, the operation converted the deck entirely to PFX™ HT Stainless Steel.

The application's success also strengthened the broader partnership, with Buffalo ultimately supplying the operation’s woven wire, urethane, and self-cleaning screen media.
