The customer was using regular square-opening screens on the top deck of a recycling plant, where screen blinding was restricting material flow. Operators had to continuously monitor and manually clear the screens to keep production running, resulting in unnecessary downtime and reduced operating efficiency.
Buffalo recommended replacing the existing screen media with PFX™ Straight Slot after identifying a similar application where the product had successfully eliminated blinding. The customer installed the new screen media on the top deck to improve material flow and reduce the maintenance required to keep the screen operating efficiently.
After installing PFX™ Straight Slot, the customer eliminated the screen-blinding issues and no longer had to "babysit" the screen during operation. By reducing downtime, the operation increased production by an estimated 1–2 hours per shift while improving overall screening efficiency.
