Eliminating Material Build-Up with Custom UHMW Magnetic Liners: How One Operation Improved Safety and Reduced Maintenance

01. The Challenge

The customer was using a mild steel liner in a transfer chute where fines were accumulating, causing material buildup. Employees had to enter the chute to manually remove the build-up, increasing maintenance time while exposing personnel to unnecessary safety risks. The customer's goal was to eliminate the accumulation of fines and improve material flow.

02. The Solution

Buffalo recommended replacing the existing liner with custom 20" × 24" UHMW Magnetic Liners. To reduce the number of seams and maximize liner coverage, Buffalo worked with its engineering team to develop the custom panel size for the application. The liners were measured, manufactured, and installed specifically for the customer's chute.

Following installation, the custom UHMW Magnetic Liners eliminated fines buildup in the chute and improved material flow.The customer experienced:
