A customer was experiencing frequent blinding issues with 3" minus material coming off a grinder. The material clogged the woven wire screens, reducing open area and significantly decreasing throughput. This slowed production and increased carryover, with more fines recirculating back into the crusher, compounding inefficiency and wear.
Our TechSquad™recommended upgrading to Buffalo’s PFX™screen media for the top deck to combat the blinding and throughput loss. After reviewing the screen conditions and application on-site, we confirmed that PFX™was a suitable fit for the top deck and provided recommendations for potential improvements to the bottom deck. While the customer chose to delay changes to the bottom deck to avoid immediate process disruptions, they expressed interest in updating it in the near future. The early results with PFX™ have been very positive.
The customer initially tried our woven wire screen and was impressed by its durability. During a follow-up visit, they mentioned ongoing blinding issues on another screen deck, which led to our recommendation of PFX™. The performance benefits quickly became clear, and Buffalo is now their preferred supplier of screen media. They’ve since begun stocking our screens for future use, confirming long-term trust in our solution.
