The customer needed a reliable screening media solution for a light-duty application on a Telsmith 8’x20’ 3-deck screener with split deck panels. Their goal was to maintain a 200 TPH production rate while improving wear life and reducing screen blinding caused by moisture. Previous screens (diamond and herringbone styles) worked well in dry conditions but often clogged when wet.
After a TechSquad™ analysis, we recommended PFX™HT screens in a .080/.062 wire configuration. Compared to the existing diamond pattern with 58% open area, PFX™HT offers 64% open area, allowing approximately 10% more throughput while maintaining excellent wear life and addressing moisture-related blinding.
The customer saw a 22–25% increase in bottom deck throughput, rising from 30 TPH to 38–40 TPH, delivering real operational value with 180–200 TPH feeding the screener. Screen life far exceeded expectations—while competitor screens lasted 2 to 4 weeks, Buffalo’s PFX™HT screens lasted over 8 weeks, solidifying Buffalo as their preferred screening media partner.
