Title Mechanical Engineer

Job Information

The Manufacturing Engineer is a technical leader on the production floor working in a team environment with engineering, maintenance and production; designs, sets up, modifies and monitors all manufacturing processes in the plant. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for evaluating existing production processes, using lean methods to identify areas of improvement.

 

Duties

 

  • Support production in reducing/eliminating scrap and tooling downtime in manufacturing departments.
  • Develop process and procedures to optimize production quality and efficiency.
  • Work with engineering department to create and establish standards and criteria.
  • Assist in tooling development to establish failsafe designs.
  • Work with maintenance to establish preventative programs to ensure manufacturing equipment functions as intended.
  • Ensure appropriate training of all employees to meet competencies necessary to execute their roles effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist in the selection and sourcing of production equipment, tooling and materials required for new products or process improvement.
  • Provides technical leadership and support to production, engineering and quality to determine root cause and institute a corrective action.
  • Create manufacturing drawings, process documentation and maintain and update routing/operation sheets, including first article documentation.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Most duties are performed on a busy production floor with some in an office setting.
  • Knowledge of LEAN/SIX Sigma practices.
  • Capable of using CAD software, preferably Inventor.
  • Must have a proven record of increasing workflow and improving efficiency.
  • Excellent mechanical/technical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Experience in debugging mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support production, engineering, maintenance, and purchasing personnel.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time.

Buffalo Wire Works is looking for a full time CNC Machinist who is willing to spend up to 6 months at our Rollinsville, Colorado facility for training. After the training period is completed, the full time position will be in our Buffalo, NY facility. Housing will be provided in Rollinsville, CO.

CNC Machinist

Operates and sets up CNC machines and machining centers, as well as manual machines such as lathes, drill press, etc. to machine metal and nonmetal parts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings/ sketches to determine the proper settings and sequence of operations to produce parts to correct dimensions within tolerances.
  • Must be able to measure, mark dimensions and reference points on material or work piece for machining.
  • Select or create proper fixtures for machining; as well as selecting the correct material and tools to machine as required.
  • Accurately select and set controls of machine, such as speed, coolant and feed of part, to efficiently machine parts.
  • Must be able to input or edit machine program.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
  • Verify that machined part meets all quality standards and is free of any defects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and works in safe manner
  • Work with engineering, production personnel and others to resolve machine or production issues.
  • 2 years’ CNC machinist experience
  • Experience making tools/programs.

The Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for computer server, hardware and software support for the company. A key component of this position is supporting, training, troubleshooting and coding in Microsoft Dynamics-NAV.

Job Description:

  • Develop, integrate, and upgrade existing or new Microsoft Dynamics-NAV systems to fit the company’s needs.
  • Provide technical support for existing Microsoft Dynamics-NAV system by troubleshooting user issues and helping to manage system configuration, report development and enhancement requests.
  • Design and program internal applications that integrate with the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning software (Microsoft Dynamics-NAV) to meet end user needs.
  • Coordinate and assist with end-user training including development of system documentation and training materials.
  • Develop customer-facing .NET web applications.
  • Troubleshoot and assist employees with IT-related issues.

The candidate must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
  • Minimum two years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics-NAV
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C/AL.
  • Experience in developing C# .NET (or Java Enterprise Edition) applications
  • Proficiency with web application technologies (JavaScript/CSS/HTML)

Preferred qualifications:
